Dance Inclusively. Join old and new friends to work on honing your skills as you dance to popular music.
Who teaches the class?
The class is taught by a highly experienced faculty of the Unity Movement and Dance with youth volunteers with extensive dance training.
Attire:
No special equipment is required– just clean sneakers and active clothing.
Class Format:
The classes typically begin with a social circle, where dancers get a chance to chat and socialize. The classes include technical instruction, preparation for the performance, and a good portion of group dance time where the dancers can express themselves through dance in their own way.
Who can participate in the class?
Teens (age 16+) and young adults with and without mild to moderate cognitive/developmental disabilities who:
- can follow simple movement instruction;
- do not require one-on-one assistance in the classroom;
- do not require mobility supports in the classroom; and
- can regulate behavior in classroom and performance environments.
How do I register?

Here are some specific instructions:
- You will need to set up an account with an email and a password. PLEASE USE AN EMAIL WHERE WE CAN CONTACT YOU FOR REGISTRATION DETAILS.
- The classes are listed as “Dance Inclusive.”
- We have a class size limit of 12 dancers per class to ensure the quality of instruction (it will be filled on a first come, first served basis) and once the capacity is reached, subsequent applications will be waitlisted.
- You do not have to sign the automatically generated waiver on Jackrabbit as that is for the DCCD classes. There is a separate waiver for the Dance Inclusive classes—we will send it to you once your registration is confirmed.
